Meet the Stationmasters

Tommey and Bill Burke Keep the Lamps Lit

Crown King Depot is owned and run by Tommey and Bill Burke, who call themselves the stationmasters. They built a new replica depot on the site of the town's original 1904 railroad depot so travelers could once again pull in, sit down, and toast the Impossible Railroad.

All aboard — there's a seat on the deck with your name on it.

Back on the Line Since 1904

The Crown King branch of the Bradshaw Mountain Railway reached Crown King on May 12, 1904 — Frank Murphy's "Impossible Railroad." The Depot is a new replica standing on the site of that original station.

Escape the Heat

Phoenix Is Baking. The Deck Is Shaded by Pines at 6,000 Feet.

Crown King sits high in the Bradshaw Mountains and runs far cooler than the Valley. Drive up, grab a seat on the wraparound deck, and let the mountain air do the rest.
